Texana Farms had the honor of hosting this year's charity event benefiting local
high school scholarship funds. The festivities, fantastic food, carriage rides and
entertainment were enjoyed on a picture perfect night under the lighted Oak Tress.
Our Caspian, Gabriel, was a big hit during the live auction bidding.

Our Caspian, Gabriel, was the talk of the evening as onlookers milled
around in preparation for the live auction. We were so proud of Gabriel... he only
opened his gate twice during the evening!

Caspian Breeders from Iran, England, Australia, Canada and the U.S. were entertained at
Texana Farms during their weekend meetings. Among our honored guests was
Louis Firouz, who rediscovered the Caspian in Iran in 1965. Her
fascinating story can be read in our history section.

In Search of the Lost Mountains
of Noah, by Robert Cornuke and David Halbrook. A fascinating read which includes a
full page devoted to the Caspian Horse! Les Stevens, Texana Farms, is on the
Board of Directors of the B.A.S.E Institute with Robert Cornuke, its founder
and explorer. Bob Cornuke is considered a modern-day Indiana Jones. He has
appeared on many national television shows talking about his fascinating
biblical archeological searches and finds. His latest adventure is his
search for Noah's Ark. After several trips to Iran, he believes the Ark
is sitting high on top of a mountain range in northern Iran. Interestingly,
the timeline and location of Noah's Ark run parallel with the discovery and
location of the Caspian. Maybe……the Caspian walked right off of Noah's Ark!
For more information on Bob Cornuke, his explorations and the B.A.S.E Institute, go to his website at www.baseinstitute.com.

Bob Langrish lives in England. He came to Texana Farms to photograph the Caspians.
He is a delightful and talented artist. He is a world-renowned equestrian photographer.
His photos can be seen regularly in major equestrian magazines such as Horse Illustrated,
in calendars and in books such as The Encylopedia of the Horse, just to mention a few.
We were honored to have him photograph our Caspians and add them to his photographic
library!

Showing our Caspians has been rewarding and fun. People are fascinated
and want to know more each time we show. They are proven winners in both
halter, equitation, harness and hunter/jumper. The sky is the limit for
this exceptionally, talented little athlete. Be watching for great
things in the Western disciplines as well. We have only just begun!!
